Running . . . why?

Okay, I just have a bit of a tirade and would like some feedback on the subject. I HATE to run. I've hated it for as long as I can remember. Even when I've tried it for awhile, I never got into the groove. My mom runs five miles every day (sans Sunday), I have a brother-in-law training for the Boston Marathon, and I have friends training for a half marathon. I am surrounded by amazing running examples, yet I can't bring myself to do it. I'm in pretty good shape at the moment, but the running part of my boot camp class is the most miserable. I'd rather do push-ups! What's wrong with me?

This is not me, but I did like the picture of Timp in the background. I should be more like her, though -- she has two kids like I do, and I have the same type of stroller. What's my excuse?

I'm with you on the running thing...let's just go hiking! Come to Oregon and I'll take you on our favorite forest trails!

Its all about scenery. I can't run for more than 45 minutes on a treadmill/track, but if I am outdoors I used to be able to for hours.... granted this was back when I was still a teenager.... better get back to it I suppose.

Hey Lis! I haven't been in this part of the neighboorhood for awhile. Loved the blog. My favorite is the picture of Jayce with the earplugs and the goofy swimmingsuit - or whatever the heck that thing is. It looks like he has several sticks of dynamite strapped to him that could blow any minute! Ok, enough of the mockery. Your kids are dang cute!

Running - what is the reward, besides great legs...seriously - i hate to run. The only thing that lady should be doing with 2 kids and that stroller is shopping! I do have a cute story though - i will hijack your blog - I used to run when I was in college (only to get great legs), and when i would come down the hill toward my house this little old man and his wife used to cut me a rose from their rose garden. That is my only good memory of running. I have quit while I am ahead! Smart hugh!

And another thing - don't be like her. What an irresponsible citizen. Look how she has littered cups everywhere...I'm sure she would claim it wasn't all her, but we know the truth.

Lisa, it was so much fun to see your message on my blog and fun to connect with you again! Such cute kids you have. I know it's been months since you left the message...it tooks me months to even see it there. I smartened up and now have comments emailed to me. But anyway, I just wanted to say Hi and say we'll have to stay in touch via our blogs. :)

I hate running too- haven't done it in years until last week. I needed to change my workout up a bit- not losing the weight. Bleh! It's such a mental thing. I still hate it. I have a goal to run a 5K so that's at least something for me to work towards- that and losing some more weight!
