Yes, I can handle two obsessions!

Okay, I went all by myself to the BYU b-ball game and scalped a ticket. I was so proud of myself for venturing out. I had a blast at the game, despite the fact we lost. The UNC crowd outnumbered the BYU crowd 10-1, but fortunately, the surrounding UNC fans were nice enough to me (except when BYU was close or winning -- then they wouldn't even look at me). I tried not to be too obnoxious, but when BYU did well I couldn't help but cheer. Sadly, we lost, but I was so glad I went. I've forgotten how fun those games are, and how often does BYU play the #1 team in the nation? They needed my support. :) By the way, the UNC fans were way too diehard. They were rattling off stats for both teams and were so technical and crazy-eyed. I was a bit scared of their passion and intensity. I love BYU, but I also have a family to raise, too (priorities).

And, for the historic Utah game, can I just say "Wahoo!!!" My heart went from pure sadness to pure elation (after the completed 4th and 18 pass). Why do the Utah games always come down to the wire? I'm still smiling from that victory. What a great way to win!!! I'm so glad Bronco's the coach . . . he's miles above Whittingham. I love Max Hall who was a trooper despite the sore shoulder. I love Austin Collie, Unga, etc. I love that the game was played at LES so I could see Mt. Timpanogos from my Vegas home. I love being dominant in the MWC.

Anyway, it's good to be a BYU fan. Both basketball and football are deservedly ranked. I'm still crossing my fingers for a BCS bid (unlikely), but if not, my Cougs will come here to play -- I'll be happy either way!

Can I handle TWO obsessions?

Okay, I'm a huge BYU fan of football and basketball. With the U game tomorrow and bowl games approaching, I've been all about football. I usually don't get into basketball until the football season is over -- simply because I don't have time to follow both. However, that trend might be changing due to BYU's win over #6 Louisville tonight (thanks to BYU TV for showing the game). Yeehaw! The game was actually played in Vegas, but I couldn't go due to child tending issues. However, tomorrow we'll most likely play #1 UNC, and I'm there -- the kids will just have to fend for themselves. :) Actually, I will make arrangements (which may involve Jer staying home while I go by myself). Anyhow, I can't handle this. The U game tomorrow . . . a possible #1 matchup in basketball . . . can I just say that this is heaven? Actually, I guess we'll see how the games play out, then we'll discuss the divineness of it all. :)

GO BYU!!!!!! I'm so excited and nervous!!!!

Happy Birthday, Jayce!

This year we went all out and rented Pump It Up for Jayce's third birthday party. Pump It Up consists of numerous bounce houses and slides. Confusion and craziness ruled the morning, but I think everyone managed to have fun. We had a cute group of kids, and Jayce loved being the center of it all. Thanks to all those who came!

I don't think we got all the kids in there -- this was the best we could do. Trying to corral toddlers is nearly impossible!

Alyssa was missing her morning nap, so she took a break in an exersaucer.

Future basketball player, perhaps? She has those long fingers and is tall as well . . . who knows?

I love Jayce's expression as he's about to pick up his gladiator weapon. A boy in heaven!

By the way, the girl holding up the cake is a Pump It Up employee -- not me. :) I wish I looked that young, though.

Goofy link

My dad created this for us -- kind of funny. I think Jer's and Alyssa's bodies should be switched, but otherwise it's a hoot. I love Jayce's serious expression as he dances.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Steven's mission call!!!

Steven just opened his mission call mere minutes ago, and he's going to (drumroll, please) . . . FRANKFURT, GERMANY!!! Not the easiest of missions, I'm sure, but definitely a more exotic place than Provo. Anyway, we're stoked. Congrats, Steven! By the way, you will need a haircut. :)

Okay, Steven will kill me for posting this picture, but it's the only recent one I have of him. That was a pre-prom shot taken back in April.

Congrats also goes to my niece, Allison. For being seven years-old, she's pretty awesome at picking places -- she won with Italy. She's the one on the far right along with Natalie and little Nathan.

"But Mom, Stormtroopers don't wear makeup!"

Jayce has had an active imagination as of late. He regularly has conversations with "good guy," "bad guy," and "Mike" (??????). He also loves recreating battle scenes of Star Wars (he insists on my involvement) and is fascinated by Stormtroopers. The other day I had to get ready for playgroup, and he was quite dismayed that I cut the Star Wars game short, eliciting the comment above.

Another game Jayce created, much to Jer's amusement, is one where Jayce goes to work and I sit at home crying all day. He'll call me from his pretend office on his pretend phone and ask what's wrong. I have to respond "I'm sad because you're gone all day." He then replies, "It's okay, Mommy -- I hurry." Then he types furiously (because that's all he thinks Jeremy does), hops on his bike, then rides back to me with a big hug telling me that he's home and that I can be happy now. I honestly don't know where he gets this . . . I manage quite fine while Jer's at work, thank you very much! :)

Nellis Air Show

Jer and Steve (Jer's dad) took Jayce to the air show last week. Jayce loves loves loves planes, so he was quite excited. He even sported sunglasses to look more like a pilot . . . and Dad, of course. The weather was unseasonably warm, so the crowds came out. However, Jayce still had a blast (but poor Jeremy's feet!). Good times with the boys!

Trick-or-Treat!

We couldn't get the kids to cooperate with the camera, so this was the best we could do. From left to right: Rylan, Alyssa, Jaden, and Jayce (hopefully Jayce is just scratching his nose).

Halloween Par-tay (so late, I know)

Alyssa was a duck, or a "chick" -- as others affectionately called her (at least I hope it was in a nice way :) ). Jayce donned the lion suit again, and they partied it up at a Halloween party hosted by Rock and Roll Kids.

Disneyland

So exhausted!

Alyssa loved getting wet the most. She harbors no fear of water.

This was taken right before the Matterhorn. Jayce insisted on going , and we were so thrilled that we could take him on a "big" ride. After the ride was over, Jayce cried. . . but only because he wanted to go again, not because he was scared. Our little thrill seeker.

Further proof that Alyssa loves the water -- this was our last activity at the park because she got so wet.

More Disneyland Halloween Adventures

Jer and Jayce with the Little Einsteins

Jayce with his buddy, Buzz Lightyear. Buzz chased him around the dance floor and they goofed off for awhile.

Disney's Halloween Trick-or-Treat

As stated in my previous post, we braved the trek to Disneyland. We hated to disappoint Jayce after promising him the trip and telling him all about the trick-or-treat night. Fortunately, we barely noticed the smoke (just a bit on Thursday morning) and no one seemed irritated by the air. The kids had a blast, so I'm glad we went. Honestly, I think the LDS community was out in full force . . . we saw SO many BYU shirts and tons of people approached us because of Jer's BYU hat ("Go Cougs" was the general affirmation). I felt a little better seeing others braving the situation as well.

Anyway, Jayce loved trick-or-treating at Disneyland. His favorite part was the dancing -- the characters loved him. Jayce was the dancing fiend in the video dressed as half a lion (he didn't don the head part -- "too itchy"). By the way, I have no idea where he gets his moves. :)

Here is Jayce attempting to Hula Hoop. . .

Anyway, so many more videos I could show, but Google would probably expel me for using too much space. :) I'd recommend the Halloween night . . . besides the dancing, the rides are open and they have trick-or-treating stations throughout the park. So fun for the kids!

Spooky Lunch Bunch

Okay, so it wasn't so spooky, but we had a fun time anyway. Jayce's favorite part was riding the tire swing with his playgroup buddies. Check them out in their harvest colors!

Another Pumpkin Patch

Here are a few pics from another Pumpkin Patch trip. Jayce sure had fun with his friends Jackson and Jaden (so many J's!).

Not a great picture, considering I missed most of her face. I liked Alyssa's smiley eyes, though. She loved the petting zoo!
