I'm so frustrated because I can't find my camera, so my fun stories will have to wait (I need visuals). I had to look in the photo archives to be inspired to write about something. Anyway, I don't mean to sound cocky, but my kids are really cute (although the word "cute" doesn't do them justice, but I know I'm biased as well). To show my humility, though, I will say that my genes had nothing to do with it. Jer and I often comment that our kids don't look like us or each other. Except on rare occasions, we really don't see any resemblance.
Which brings me to another question . . . what do you say when people comment that your kids are cute? I reply "Thanks," because it's a nice thing to say. But, again, I feel like I'm taking undeserved credit. They are cute in spite of me.
And, as a side note to my fellow bloggers -- you all have adorable children, too. And you don't need to thank me. :)
When they were young (around six months each):

Cocky? No. Cute kids? Definitely!
Are you crazy? A. has so much of you in her! :) I actually see a little of you in J. too. But yes, VERY CUTE! :) I always say, Thanks, I think so. and what I am thinking, Yeah they are!! hahaha... Easier to take compliments about your kids rather than yourself sometimes.
Your kids are so cute! Reg and I giggle when we see picture of your little girl..."Little Lisa" is what we call her!
That's so funny -- I don't see it! Sometimes I see Jer in her, but other than the tinge of red hair I would never think we were related. :)
I can't see it in my kids except krew's pictures against my baby pictures, but for your little girl I think I see it in her mouth and maybe her nose. But too, when you tell me funny stories, I can just see you in her, when she tals smart and stuff!
HELLO, like I said today you have everything to do with it, you grew them! I hope you find your camera soo that could be bad new. I never notice, did you ever find your wedding ring or should I not bring it up?
I found my camera, but alas, no ring. We actually just cashed in our insurance policy on it, so I'll be replacing it soon. I feel like I'm being a traitor to my original ring, though -- I want that one back, not a new one! I'm so heartbroken! :(
By the way, thanks Holli for the smart comment. :) Seriously, I may have been brainy in high school -- even college. However, my intellect has drained since then and I feel like a bumbling idiot most of the time. :) I guess Alyssa may reflect my former self at times, but I hope she doesn't reflect my current mental state!
You're so funny. BTW - Embrace a new ring! I do every year :) I got a gold band when we got married so I could go to Hawaii, and the fact that I lose everything. I was a little sad about losing one particular ring though. Oh well! I get a new pretty one - and one that fits after all the babies! I am so not sentimental about jewelry - as long as the husband is here to stay i am good.
Your kids are cute! But I agree with the little Lisa comment. Alyssa looks exactly like you. I saw it when I first met her, when she was just a tiny little girl. I also like bragging about my child! He is pretty cute and I am proud to say it.
Cute kids!! They must get it from their mother!
You should get them a shirt that reads "If you think I'm cute you should see my mom." Haha
On the running post- I agree with you - I so hate running! I had to change my workout a bit and picking up running. Haven't done that in years! I'm setting a goal to run a 5K so I have something to look for- that and losing weight! Way to go on doing a boot camp! those are tough.
