President Hinckley, 1910 - 2008

As I was talking to my mom on the phone tonight, I heard my brother in the background rushing into the house after a fireside. He had just been texted on his cell phone about President Hinckley's death. Although the news was not surprising, my reaction surprised me . . . I was so incredibly sad. I know he's at peace, but the selfish side of me wanted him to live forever -- I can't imagine Church leadership without him. His intellect, warmth, humor, and love were such comforts. I'm listening to KSL coverage at the moment, and I'm being reminded of all the incredible things he accomplished. He ushered in an amazing era of the Church, and I'm so grateful I lived during his prophecy. I will miss him!
